Isaiah 53 is a description of Elijah. I am that man. I am Elijah. I am the herald of the time of the new covenant of G-d’s forgiveness of the sins and iniquities of the Jewish people declared by G-d for a time to come in Jeremiah 31. It is this time. A time for G-d to redeem the Jewish people now that Jacob has returned to the land of Israel. A time to rebuild the Temple of G-d in Jerusalem.

In the New Testament Jesus tells his followers that John the Baptist is Elijah. Jesus uses the book of Malachi to describe John the Baptist as the messenger Elijah with the very verse that references the covenant of sin forgiveness for the Jewish people and omits it.

Jesus does not teach of the new covenant that comes with Elijah and yet says salvation is of the Jews. John as Elijah never delivers the message of the covenant of sin forgiveness of the Jewish people.

History tells the world that John the Baptist was not Elijah. The prophecy of the time to come of sin forgiveness provides that after the time of the new covenant the Jewish people will never be uprooted from Israel again.

Rome destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple and the Jewish people were exiled after the death of Jesus and his cousin John the Baptist.

Jesus knew the verse of Malachi to describe Elijah and he knew the covenant that came with him was salvation of the Jewish people; the forgiveness of the sins of the Jewish people to be heralded by the return of Elijah before the awesome, fearful day of the L-rd.

Elijah returns in the end times and the L-rd returns to His Temple quickly. When it is rebuilt. The L-rd was in His Temple in the days of Jesus and John the Baptist.

The end times.

The end of the times of the uprooting of the Jewish people from the land of Israel.
