63But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Matthew 26/63-64 Holy Bible KJV.
26And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
27And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
28Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:
29So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
30Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Mark Chapter 13/26-30 Holy Bible KJV.
1And he said unto them (in the towns of Caesarea Philippi), Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. Mark 9/1 Holy Bible KJV.
25And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
27And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
28And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
29And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
30When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
31So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
32Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Luke 21/25-32 Holy Bible KJV.
1The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
2Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
3Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
4John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. Revelation Chapter 1/1-7 Holy Bible KJV.
generation: a group of people born and living during the same time; the people in a family born and living during the same time; and the average length of time between the birth of parents and the birth of their children. Dictionary (edited).
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4/16-17 Holy Bible KJV
1But a shoot shall grow out of the stump of Jesse,
A twig shall sprout from his stock.
2The spirit of the Lord shall alight upon him:
A spirit of wisdom and insight,
A spirit of counsel and valor,
A spirit of devotion and reverence for the Lord.
3He shall sense the truth by his reverence for the Lord:
He shall not judge by what his eyes behold,
Nor decide by what his ears perceive.
4Thus he shall judge the poor with equity
And decide with justice for the lowly of the land.
He shall strike down a land with the rod of his mouth
And slay the wicked with the breath of his lips.
5Justice shall be the girdle of his loins,
And faithfulness the girdle of his waist.
6The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard lie down with the kid;
The calf, the beast of prey, and the fatling together,
With a little boy to herd them. Isaiah 11/1-6 Tanakh JPS 1985.
24As I live—declares the Lord—if you, O King Coniah, son of Jehoiakim, of Judah, were a signet on my right hand, I would tear you off even from there. 25I will deliver you into the hands of those who seek your life, into the hands of those you dread, into the hands of King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon and into the hands of the Chaldeans. 26I will hurl you and the mother who bore you into another land, where you were not born; there you shall both die. 27They shall not return to the land that they yearn to come back to.
28Is this man Coniah A wretched broken pot, A vessel no one wants? Why are he and his offspring hurled out, And cast away in a land they knew not?
29O land, land, land, Hear the word of the Lord!
30Thus said the Lord: Record this man as without succession, One who shall never be found acceptable; For no man of his offspring shall be accepted To sit on the throne of David And to rule again in Judah. Jeremiah 22/24-30 Tanakh JPS 1985.
Jesus tells us that he will return in the time of lives in being: the life of the high priest who will see him return, the lives of the people of the towns of Caesarea Philippi then living, the generation of lives in being during his life, and the lives of those who pierced him with the spear after he died on the cross.
They are all dead now for close to two thousand years. Jesus spoke a prophecy of his return with a specific time frame, lives in being (the “measuring lives”) and the prophecy failed.
The Apostle Paul said “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
For almost two thousand years the dead in Christ and those alive during those years have waited to rise to heaven. His prophetic announcement did not happen. And that was not his only false prophecy.
Jesus said the book of Isaiah was satisfied by him one day in synagogue. That he was a shoot grown out of the stump of Jesse, a twig sprouted from his stock and that he would strike down a land with the rod of his mouth and slay the wicked with the breath of his lips.
The line of Jesus given in the book of Matthew is the line of the Kings of Judah through King Jeconia that was exiled to Babylon and banished by G-d from ever ruling over Judah again. That is why the ancestral tree of Jesse the father of King David is referred to as the stump.
Jesus could not fulfill the book of Isaiah for the reason that his line of David is not from the stump of Jesse. The line of Jesus is from the felled ancestral tree of Jesse.
Jesus did not fulfill the book of Isaiah for the reason that he did not strike down Rome with the roof of his mouth or slay the Romans with the breath of his lips.
Jesus was wrong to think he was the twig of the stump of Jesse but he did know he had to return quickly if he was going to fulfill the prophecy of the Jewish bible. To defeat Rome and drive the Romans from the lands of Abraham.
There is no scripture about rising from the grave and then to heaven and returning to fulfill the prophecy of the Jewish bible. Jesus never returned from heaven as he said he would and Rome destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple and drove the Jewish people out of the lands of Abraham. And the dead in Christ never rose to meet him in the air. And now they never will. His prophecy failed.
His forefathers lost Jerusalem and the Temple to the Babylonians and the Jewish people were exiled to Babylonia.
And that is why his line was banished by G-d from ever ruling over Judah again. G-d said “no man of his offspring shall be accepted To sit on the throne of David” and Jesus is that offspring.
